Scala Dei
Priorat
Cartoixa Priorat
Scala Dei Cartoixa is not only the most emblematic wine of the Scala Dei wineries; it is also a milestone in the wine history of Priorat, as it was the first wine bottled under the D.O.C. Priorat. Scala Dei Cartoixa is made with a selection of the best autochthonous grapes of the area: Garnatxe and Cariñena.
Garnatxa Priorat
Scala Dei Garnatxa combines three concepts: freshness, fruit and simplicity. It is made mainly with Garnatxa grapes, the predominant variety in the Scala Dei vineyards, and has the pure expression of fruit and terroir. The red clay soils and the altitude of the vineyards located in the foothills of the Sierra del Montsant give it freshness and those of licorella, a genuine imprint that is shown in this wine in the form of Prioratine personality, minerality and acidity. It is a good example of what is the Garnatxa and what is the Priorat.
Masdeu Garnatxa
Masdeu is a wine from a single vineyard, one of the oldest vineyards of Scala Dei that the Carthusian monks were already working. In its elaboration, the way of working and the ancestral wine making techniques that had disappeared in Priorat have been recovered, such as fermentation and refining in cement presses and tanks. It is one of the wines with which we intend to show the different faces of the Garnatxa in Scala Dei, depending on its height, soil and processing.
“Prior” Garnatxa
Scala Dei Prior is a wine with personality, which breathes tradition and authenticity, as it allows us to better understand the richness of DOC Priorat. It is made with grapes from different small plots carefully selected. This care during all the elaboration gives result to a red wine structured breeding and with fullness of aromas that transports us to the vineyards of the Priorat.
