Sauvignon Blanc

Angel Falls Sauvignon Blanc is a clean, bright and fresh white wine with a powerful aroma. Scintillating pale gold colour with silver highlights. Lovely fresh fruit (tropical fruit, blackcurrant, citrus) and floral aromas. Develops beautifully on the palate with delicate white fruit (nectarine) and fresh lemony flavours. Great length with a certain minerality.

The vineyards have clay and flint soil, whereas the steeper slopes have more siliceous soil with clay that is ideal for Sauvignon Blanc. The soil is quite unusual : a light clay and sand mix called shelly sand. The sand consists of ancient marine sediment (fossils and shells) that warms up quickly and is conducive to good ripening. The wine is aged on the lees before bottling.

This wine is a treat and best enjoyed with cheese and charcuterie, salads, all seafoods including fish dishes and shellfish, or as an aperitif.
